I am the Responsible AI Lead for Microsoft’s Growth and Experience division, specializing in Cloud and AI within the Data Protection Group. I solve complex customer issues, align with C-suite executives, and drive enterprise objectives through engineering and customer feedback. I report to customer leadership and collaborate with internal teams up to the Executive VP level. Additionally, I develop documentation, whitepapers, and other materials that provide transparency into how we mitigate risks related to AI, cybersecurity, and compliance.

💼 EXPERIENCE

Microsoft - Principal Engineering Program Manager (2018-Present)

Understanding industry needs has been the cornerstone of my success at Microsoft. My customer experience engineering team was tasked with winning the 27 global, systemically-important banks. Today, we have 24 on the Microsoft cloud. As a thought leader in financial services regulation, cloud regulation, security, and privacy, I orchestrate epicenters of knowledge across Microsoft to achieve impactful objectives. As an engineering PM, I understand customer requirements by leading focus groups, then interface with engineering to ensure our products meet stringent customer expectations. As an author, I write whitepapers and technical documentation providing customers assurance - an understanding of risk mitigation within the Microsoft cloud - providing confidence in the adoptability and trajectory of our services. As a public speaker, I host international banking executives at the Microsoft Executive Briefing Center where I facilitate discussions on regulatory leadership, compliance, security, and AI. MICROSOFT AZURE HYPER SCALE COMPLIANCE ADVISORY Leading a team of three individuals providing compliance advisory services building Power BI dashboards tracking compliance and team effectiveness. Assisting in the testing and troubleshooting of a universal compliance tool articulating technical and compliance knowledge in response to Azure RFPs Leveraging framework mapping to decrease audit redundancy and engineering impact. BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT • Led topic-based training to promote knowledge transfer • Key participant in contract and SOW discussions with clientele • Generated ways to increase company visibility in the market • Diagrammed key business processes to evidence the achievement of CMMI Level 3

IT Risk Assurance EY (2014 - 2016)

Supported the Cloud and Enterprise division of a Fortune 100 software corporation. This involved: ➜ Developing and documenting a data integration solution using VBA and MS Access Cloud App ➜ Managing regular SQL Agent jobs performing data migrations (via the execution of SSIS packages) for the purpose of capturing trends in the enterprise's risk and control data ➜ Creating dashboards and reports using Power BI presented at the director level Monitored the cloud security controls of a Fortune 100 software corporation, which included: ➜ Advising on control design and operating effectiveness ➜ Providing compliance program support and feedback ➜ Remotely coordinating the efforts of our EY Global Talent Hub team in Bangalore, India ➜ Building and releasing weekly and monthly control status dashboards

As a consequence, Tanner was equally adept managing sensitive discussions with senior leaders in the financial services industry while translating their needs to our engineers who would improve our product. This was, and is, a crucial role to help Microsoft stay at the forefront in the industry and had a direct impact on Microsoft's business results.

Tanner is a exceptional learner who rapidly grew into his role at EY. He outstandingly portrays EY's values and culture in everything he does. Within my role that worked across multiple services and departments, I had the opportunity to see Tanner is consistently a high performer in executing goals and priorities that meet the given needs. He has demonstrated excellent team leadership, ability to anticipate the client's needs, and knowledge when tackling projects on tight deadlines. Along with being approachable and self-motivating, he is a great team member to have on any project! I would gladly work alongside with him given another opportunity!
